Something is Bothering Me

Gosh, why today felt such a loooong day?? It might be because I’ve been having a slight upset stomach (mild gastritis I’d say?) for the whole day. It feels like I have some prickling needles in my stomach.

Could it be my breakfast this morning?

No I didn’t finish the tomatoes – just nibbled part of them and the rest went back to the fridge I used it for today’s dinner stir fry.

This morning was my first time:
1. Tried the Canned Sardines that I got last week
2. Drank plain coconut milk with some blackberries mixed into it (last time I had Coconut Apple pudding so not exactly purely coconut milk)

The breakfast filled me up even until lunch time! More filling than yesterday’s one.

Yesterday’s b-fast:Nuked broc, tea egg and pork chops.

I wasn’t hungry AT ALL by lunch time, and at the same time the mild gastritis strike in as well. Learning from my unpleasant last experience of skipping lunch, I decided not to do it this time. I know, I know the principle of “eat only when you’re hungry”, but I just don’t want to feel like crap of skipping lunch like last time. I could skip breakfast or dinner but not lunch. Period.

So the whole afternoon, I felt like I’m inhaling a piece of brick and with occasion “prickling needles” in my stomach. Totally stuffed but not crashed. If I ate some grains/gluten for lunch, I’m sure I’d be worse.

The question is now either the sardines or the coconut milk upsets my stomach. Or I just simply ate too much today?

Although I made the veggie stir fry for dinner, I am thinking to just skip dinner altogether – Intermittent Fasting, anyone?

Slowly back on the Track

So after Saturday full of cheat, I slowly eased my way back to the usual Primal eats.

Sunday Breakfast was one banana with left over 2% fat Fage greek yogurt (my local stores only carry those or the 0% – FAIL).

I didn’t feel like cooking much for lunch so we went out instead. Originally we were gonna go to Ka Shabu, using Groupon that I got a while back. But it was a bit far so we decided to just go to King’s Fish House.
They have wild caught fish! Score!

I ordered Macadamia Nut Crusted Wild Alaskan Halibut with a side of Roasted Ratatouille and house salad

K ordered Lemon Nut Crusted Wild Californian White Seabass with a side of steamed spinach and house salad

and Orange County Roll - which pretty much California Rolls topped with smelt roe

Ate the greens minus the croutons and dressing

I specifically asked the server to pan fry our fish with butter instead of veg. oil (the waitress must be thinking we’re clogging our arteries with butter fat..haha)

The lunch was really good. We might wanna come back later in the future.

After got home, K went to his parents place for dinner gathering and I stayed behind and prepared food for this coming week: Citrus Thyme Pork Chops and Sesame Ginger Pork.

Since I ate a bit too much and sat on my ass most of the time, I did the exercise challenge. Felt so good to sweat. The lunch filled me up pretty good so I skipped dinner altogether. Intermittent Fasting might give my body a little break after indulgent.

Fasted for the Bloody Day

Happy Friday everyone!! Bloody day for me today -without the bloody orange.

Even though I was off from work today, it didn’t feel like it! I was OUT for most of the day and STARVED fasted until noon!

First trip to the doctor’s office at 9:30am

Not too many people, but believe it or not I spent almost 1.5 hour here and most it just WAITING AND WAITING AND WAITING.
After the PA talked to me for a mere 5-10 minutes, they told me to go to the lab for the blood test. That was quite a surprised because in the past, they used to draw the blood right there. Anyway, they mentioned they already sent the lab order electronically so I just need to give the lab my info.

Good thing is the lab is located on my way to my next appointment so I dropped by. After I got there, the lab said the doctor’s office HASN’T SENT the order. I was like BLAH! It was almost the time for my next appointment so I figured maybe I just came back later. Called the doc’s office and assured they sent the order.

Second appointment.

Can you believe this is the doctor’s waiting room? So cozy huh? Didn’t spend too much time waiting here but it still took at least an hour.
And got another blood work order.

On the bright side, there’s the lab NEARBY this place and it was only walking distance. Two stuff done!

They took 8 tubes of my blood (6 bigger tubes, 2 small ones).

And a urine sample. Gah, I hate taking urine sample! Gross! Enough said.

Finally I could have my first meal of the day!

Funny thing is I wasn’t actually super hungry and cranky, despite being in empty stomach for about 16 hours (last meal I had was last night at 7:30pm).

Last appointment of the day.

I was the first person!

Finally got home around 4pm and started up dinner and working out!

Phew, a workout always makes me feel refreshed afterward, despite drenched in sweats. After having my lunch, I was actually more sleepy and tired than being on an empty stomach. Weird. Have you felt that way before?
